Business Development Manager, Engineering Software Consultancy, Aerospace and Automotive, £60,000 Basic, £90,000 OTE + Car + benefits. National Business Development role with a leader in technical software solutions that is ideal for a solution led, consultative sales professional with a strong engineering bias. The exciting thing about the software is the company charges upfront for their consultancy to understand the project and scope the solution but the delivery is sold as SaaS to include warranty and ongoing maintenance. Typically clients are contracted to 3 years, but this model makes securing high-cost bespoke software solutions more attractive to end-user clients as there is not a massive upfront capital investment.
The role is perfect for an engineering, aerospace or automotive sales professional that can open doors with senior engineering levels to bring in the brilliant pre-sales and support staff to help close the deals. The OTE is based on winning around ten average orders per annum and is entirely uncapped.
The role is winning high valued contracts to deliver expert bespoke software that solve specific problems within all engineering sectors but primarily with aviation, automotive and rail. The position is mainly business development and account development, i.e. many of the clients are part of larger group companies so you will be tasked to network across your existing contacts to forge relationships with key decision makers.
This role requires a substantial business development-oriented sales professional that is grounded, likeable, credible and professional with a natural sales enthusiasm and the desire to 'make it happen'.
* To apply you will have at least two years' experience within technical consultative sales or in selling software development services into sectors such as aerospace, automotive and rail.
* As a person, you will be down to earth, outgoing, honest, enthusiastic, hardworking, a team player and competitive.
* You will be healthily assertive and be a self-managing, self-starter - the kind of person with the attitude of 'working for yourself' within an established business.
