Business Development Manager – Building Contractor

Job Title: Sales Representative – Building Contractor

Industry Sector: Construction Services, Refurbishment and Renovation, Adaptations, Groundworks and Demolitions, Extensions and New Builds, Housing Developments, Education, Social Care, Commercial Office, Industrial Units, Hospitals, Agriculture etc.

Areas to be covered: Mid & North Wales, Cheshire, Shropshire & West Midlands

Remuneration: Up to 40,000 + Bonus/ Uncapped Commission

Benefits: Car allowance + Benefits Package

The role of the Business Development Manager – Building Contractor will involve:

·        Sales position, working on behalf of a middle tier building contractor

·        Selling construction services; refurbishment & renovation, adaptations, groundworks & demolition, extensions and new builds, planned maintenance, framework agreements etc.

·        Targeting local authorities, housing associations, architects, education, commercial office, industrial units and hospital projects etc.

·        First dedicated sales representative for our client, historically just worked from tenders

·        70% Shropshire office based and 30% on the road meeting with clients and prospective customers

·        Targeting projects worth £500,000-£5m

·        Utilising your own network of contacts and building new client relationships to proactively target private and public sector

·        New business development and account management position

·        Utilising in-house team of trades people as well as an extensive & accredited team of sub-contractors

·        Generating leads and qualifying prospects

·        Attend trade exhibitions, conferences and other marketing events

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager Building Contractor with:

·        3 years experience working for a building contractor

·        Construction industry experience

·        Strong presentation skills

·        Highly motivated

·        Team player, out-going, adaptable personality

·         Contacts within architects, local authorities, housing associations, housing developments, schools & colleges, industrial units, hospitals, medical units, agricultural properties may be useful

·        Ideally knowledge of planned maintenance, construction services, refurbishment and renovation, adaptations, groundworks and demolitions, extensions and new builds, re-roofing, bathroom & kitchen re-design/ replacement, door replacement, scheduled re-wiring, electrical inspections, testing, boiler maintenance etc.
