DESCRIPTION

Amazon Launchpad is a unique programme showcasing cutting-edge products from startups and entrepreneurs from around the world, making it easy for them to onboard, market, and launch new products to millions of our customers.

Working within one of the fastest growing areas of Amazon, you will source and onboard the largest startups and brand owners entering Europe. You will work closely with external partners such as venture capital firms, managing relationships and negotiating to source the best startup products, having oversight on the process from start to finish. To do this you will:

· Develop a detailed, analytical startup recruitment strategy to improve the efficiency of Amazon Launchpad business development efforts
· Create and expand relationships with external partners, including venture capital firms, crowdfunding companies, accelerators, and up-and-coming startup companies
· Source leads from global startup conferences/events and establish Amazon Launchpad’s presence in the global startup community
· Work closely with worldwide Amazon teams to collaborate and to develop and refine processes
· Own reporting and business development initiatives for startups entering Europe
· Own the development and evolution of this part of the business as it grows, producing the strategy for 2021 and beyond
· Product manage at least one complex area for the whole Amazon Launchpad programme
· Monitor industry, regional, and competitive trends and create plans to address competitive gaps and drive revenue opportunities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

What are the required skills? Operating in a fast-moving and challenging environment, Amazon’s high performance bar requires that you are:
· Someone with 4+ years of professional experience, including significant project management experience
· Self-motivated and results driven
· Passionate about online business, e-commerce, startups, and business development
· Able to work autonomously, taking responsibility for achieving your business development targets
· An excellent communicator with strong, proven negotiation skills
· Numerical with the ability to apply intermediate/advanced Excel skills
· Able to succeed in an ambiguous, fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organisation
· Fluent in written and oral English and have a bachelor’s degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

What is the desired experience?
· Demonstrated track record of success in business development and project management
· Experience in e-commerce or retail or startups
· Intermediate/advanced SQL/ETL skills
· Experience in data analysis – either professional experience or through education
· A second language
· Ability to operate simultaneously and effectively in both tactical and strategic modes
