Business Development Manager

Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the BDM is responsible for building new business revenues in emerging and core markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing viable market opportunity and building new revenues streams on sales to core markets from an existing client portfolio and new business targets.

You will be a key player in the senior Sales team alongside other BDMs with the overriding responsibility to create growth and drive the business forward in key sectors.

The role will require prior knowledge of the geo/location market in the UK and an appetite to keep up to speed with the fast-changing technologies and opportunities for emapsite. You will need to establish a viable pipeline within 3-6 months and you will be expected to develop new business opportunities and grow existing business. You will be required to write winning proposals, negotiate effectively and conclude business. The role will also provide key intelligence and input to the development of evolving emapsite technologies and the product roadmap in line with market requirements. You will be based from home and required to attend the HQ in Farnborough at least once a week for sales team meetings.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

- Devise viable new Account plan with support from Sales Manager
- Team collaboration on account strategy
- Identifying emerging markets opportunities
- Client/prospect engagement via phone/email/video
- Sales meetings both online and face to face when possible in the future
- Weekly reporting to Sales Manager on Sales pipeline
- Act as key business representative at partner/supplier events, major industry events, conferences and trade shows
- Provide driving influence and input to Product and Services Roadmap

Day to day activities will include:

- Customer and prospect engagement
- 75% new business focus, 25% account management and retention
- Proposal writing
- New business research calls/activity
- Presentation planning
- Client meetings/presentations
- Internal meetings (sales team planning, Project planning, staff reviews)

Experience/qualifications required:

- 5+ yrs. proven sales track record of success
- Natural business developer
- Capable of building self-generated pipeline
- Build on leads and existing business to realise market potential
- Good presentation skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience in bid process useful and must be commercially savvy
- Full Driving Licence
