Our client is an established and well respected Fleet Management & Materials Handling services company and due to continuous growth and internal promotion, they are now looking to recruit a well-rounded sales professional to take on the position of Business Development Manager for the Yorkshire region


Joining as the Business Development Manager you will report directly the Sales Director and will be able to:

  • Development of a sales plan for the territory, aimed at contacting sufficient prospects to deliver agreed sales, service and hire targets, together with agreed profitability
  • Annual sales plan developed and agreed (actual v target reviewed on monthly basis).
  • Prospecting, promotional, and other tactical activities identified, agreed and implemented
  • Maintenance of a personal contact management system that secures sufficient appointments, surveys and quotations and completion of all relevant paperwork
  • Agreed volume of calls made and quality leads generated from new and existing prospects for Sales, Service and Hire.
  • Construct quality proposals and quotations, using innovative solutions.
  • Conversion of quotations and identification of other opportunities to secure sales of a balanced portfolio of products and services to new and existing customers
  • Follow up all proposals, secures business in order to meet agreed performance objectives for sales, service and hire revenue; profitability, and quality standards.
  • Seek and identify additional business opportunities.
  • Update and improve product knowledge to increase opportunities for sales

Candidate profile:

  • Previous field based business to business new business/sales experience
  • Ideally experience within the Forklift or Construction Equipment sectors
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving targets and increasing business and revenue
  • Commercial acumen including market place trends
  • Positive approach to building new relationships
  • Familiarity with using state of the art CRM systems
  • Willingness to travel to various UK locations
  • Competent with using (MS Office) MS Word, Excel and Power Point

In return, the successful candidate will receive a basic salary up to £40,000 plus an uncapped bonus scheme and company car
