Business Development Manager

Our client, the fast growing national HR business, is looking for an experienced, ambitious and effective New Business Development Manager to further accelerate their growth in the North West. Field based skills with a commercial and professional aptitude there is no limit to your earnings potential. Reporting to the CEO there are no barriers to your ability to grow.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £25000-£44000 per annum

About the role:

Responsible for selling by developing and growing the numbers of customers buying HR services in particular the MYhr product.


- Increase number of active customers
- Develop pipeline of business that meets the business plan targets, by developing and implementing a strategy for gaining new business
- Thoroughly research and prepare for all meetings and calls, maintaining company standards
- Proactively identify target customers and engage via cold calling and other techniques
- Visit potential new customers
- Communicate benefits of their services using effective questioning and listening skills to establish customer needs, the appropriate customer experience and the required contact plan
- Sign potential customers up over the telephone where applicable
- Deliver area and sector campaigns to obtain new customers
- Build and maintain an effective sales pipeline of prospect customers
- Consistently report on activity and results using online CRM system
- Effectively manage time and journey planning to maximise results
- Can demonstrate MYhr digitally via phone and in person
- Thoroughly research and prepare for all meetings and calls
- Proactively develop relationships that increase the take up of services
- Calling existing customers to account manage and business develop
- Identify service development from speaking to customers and prospects
- Fully understand all areas of the service offering and communicate this effectively internally and external
- Maintain confidentiality and to ensure confidential matters
- Answer all external / internal calls in a professional manner
- Ensure CRM is updated with all membership interactions and actions

About you:

- Significant experience in a business-to-business sales / account management role
- Can demonstrate experience of achieving real impact for business success
- Previous experience of successful selling at all levels of management
- Sales and Account Management skills
- Presentation skills both written and oral
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Well-developed IT skills, including spreadsheets, diary management and email
- Business to business experience
- Flexible approach to work including willingness to travel and work unsociable hours
