Business Development (Growth) Manager - Consultancy & Advisory

The Business line focuses on supporting small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) to reach their growth potential. In addition, it delivers high quality programmes and services to the public and private sector.

The goal is to develop a structured service line that allows the firm to engage regularly and cost effectively with small businesses through an online platform and face-to-face interactions.

Working in a highly target driven environment, the Service Delivery Manager has the responsibility to manage, grow and effectively deliver the business targets and objectives for the firm's client base.

The Service Delivery Manager will:

  • Recruit client companies to the service in line with suitability criteria
  • Build, manage and serve a portfolio of clients, securing additional revenue from up-sell and on-sell activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all required service related reporting
  • Deliver exemplary levels of client satisfaction

The Service Delivery Manager will receive leads from the Executive team and will also be expected to generate a significant number of leads themselves from their networks and other business development related activities.

They will also assist with the management of new business prospects, pipeline management, event management inclusive of lead generation events, workshops and masterclasses, campaign management in conjunction with the marketing team and the production of management reports as required by senior management.

The Service Delivery Manager role may be focussed on either the broader Growth Programmes service stream or Growth Finance service stream, and clear objectives will be agreed with the Service Delivery Manager depending on the identified specialism.

Note this is a role where the responsibilities across different products and services will change over time. This role is expected to be focussed on new service(s) in development, legacy services and other on-going commercial offerings across the wider Firm.

  • A highly credible expert with an excellent understanding of how relevant market sectors work and the challenges and barriers to the business and organisational growth
  • Sophisticated networking, business development, influencing and selling skills appropriate to the client base
  • The ability, knowledge and experience in a broad range of strategic business skills to identify barriers to growth and determine suitability of products and services to the clients
  • Strong networking and team work, administration, CRM and data Management, business development support, client query management and highly personable
  • Demonstrate the ability to show entrepreneurial drive to generate, meet and develop new prospects that convert into paid clients, closing all opportunities in a timely manner
  • Able to work in ambiguity and use knowledge and skills to help shape own workload and activity to deliver on outcomes
  • Self-starter and able to manage own time effectively to achieve agreed targets
  • Able to develop good personal relationships with colleagues, senior management in client companies and with a wide range of business support specialists
  • Effective service delivery skills with attention to client satisfaction
  • Excellent spoken and written communications skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and influencing skills
  • Dynamic self-motivated individual with evidence of innovation and initiative
  • Able to develop good personal attention to detail, numeracy skills and commercial awareness
  • Highly credible and experienced business adviser with experience of working with growing businesses.
  • Significant proven Business to Business Sales experience.
  • Proven track record in a target orientated environment

Job Offer

A basic Salary of £50,000 - £55,000 plus bonus and excellent company benefits
