We are looking to recruit a Business Development & Engineering (BD&E) Manager to fill a key role in our Sheffield plant.

If you are a driven leader with multi-level stakeholder influencing skills, this position will give you unique exposure to both Manufacturing and Category growth, taking your career to the next level.

In this role, you will:

*
Lead and champion engineering best practices.

*
Agree capital investment between our plant, and our Gum & Candy, and Biscuits Category.

*
Lead capital spend and phasing.

*
Provide mid/long term capacity planning at plant to enable overall network capacity planning at Category level.

*
Execute capital projects to the highest standards of Safety & Quality.

*
Lead change management within the plant related to new product development, line extensions, product promotions, design changes, declaration changes, and productivity projects.

*
Provide effective conversion change coordination including project costing, timing and capital requirements, applying engineering best practices, most efficient use of plant capability and capacity while maintaining high-level customer service.

The successful applicant will have ownership for setting and delivering the site roadmap for recipe, plant layout and infrastructure, engaging and influencing key stakeholders as required. You will also develop Global and Regional links to benchmark and drive improvement for key manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities:

*
Proactively review business and customer needs, transforming them into realisable propositions.

*
Initiate and manage harmonisation of manufacturing process and de-complexity of product portfolio.

*
Manage local Engineering department in execution of engineering projects, including CAPEX planning and tracking.

*
Assure that projects are delivered on time, within specification and budget.

*
Ensure delivery of engineering best practice and adherence to sanitary design requirements from project, and section teams.

*
Deal with plant Business Unit clients to assure optimal delivery compliance versus demand and to negotiate timing on new product development and promotional activities.

*
Contribute to achieve Customer Service Level (CSL) targets in the delivery of new products or promotions.

*
Provide product portfolio menu cards, capacity plans, technology and process overviews, plant roadmap development and tracking.

*
Drive Engineering talent development, skill enhancement, project management training as well as customer service training and development.

*
Lead the implementation and roll-out of the IIM pillar in support of the overall Plant & Category implementation of IL6S.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

*
University education in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Foreign Trade, or Food Technology required.

*
Fundamental know-how and experience in food processes and products required.

*
Good knowledge of technical and financial affairs required.

*
Idea Leadership, Business Acumen preferred.

*
Strong people management skills required.

*
Strong communication and negotiation skills to manage cross-functional interfaces required.

*
Analytical and conceptual skills required.

*
Consumer/customer focus, consumer insights, entrepreneurial ability preferred.

*
Strong project management and organisational skills required.

*
Creativity to provide smart solutions at lower cost required.

*
New product launch, commercialisation, and I2M process skills preferred.

*
At least 5 years of cross-category and cross-functional experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics required.

Languages:

*
English required.

*
Additional European Language preferred.
