Job Title: Business Development Engineer

MGA Controls Ltd is an established supplier of Control & Instrumentation solutions and services to industry for over 35 years, supplying major brands such as Norgren, Maxseal, Bifold, Baumer, Emerson, Norgren, Buschjost, Herion, Valmatic, Singer Valve, Orbinox, Rotork, and Noreva into the Process sector and the Water sector.

We currently have a number of exclusive supply and distribution agreements and are the current framework holder for the supply of valves into several major water Utility companies.

The Role

The role will initially involve identifying with end user problems and issues within the UK water and waste water treatment industries and helping users to identify and implement cost effective solutions. The successful candidate will be able to contribute in each of the following areas.

  • To promote a range of tried and tested high quality products into the water distribution and waste water sectors in the UK. This will primarily include control valves, pressure reducing valves, the Swingflex NRV, air valves and plug valves from Valmatic, but will extend to include other products from the MGA portfolio.
  • To assist end users to experience some of the benefits and cost savings that can be achieved by the effective deployment of these technically innovative products.
  • To organize and deliver training programmes into the water industry on how to size, commission, maintain and repair a wide variety of NRVs and other control valves.
  • To help establish and further promote the Valmatic brand into the UK market place and across Europe.
  • To work towards agreed sales targets and performance metrics
  • To participate in sales/technical calls to key end-users, engineers and water industry suppliers.
  • To take the lead in training other agents or distributors on how to market, promote and support our products successful

About you:

The successful candidate would live within the northwest area and should have the following experience:-

  • Have a number of years experience of working in support of the water distribution and/or wastewater treatment with extensive knowledge of the issues, needs and demands of the UK water industry
  • Will be up to date on water leakage management issues in the UK
  • Will have previously developed an understanding of the issues involved in the specifying, commissioning or maintaining of NRV valves into the Water Industry.
  • Will have an extensive network of contacts within the UK Water Industry
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a sales or business development environment with a structured approach to sales.

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent with a relevant engineering background.

  • He/she will be a self motivated individual with a demonstrable ability to work without direct supervision.
  • A strong desire to succeed and an aptitude to strive towards target achievement will be essential qualities.
  • Personable with well developed interpersonal skills that will allow effective communication with management and maintenance staff alike.

Please Note: We are willing to accept applicants with under this experience level but you'd need to show key competencies / a strong sales record in order to be considered for this role.
