Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating / Water Heaters 

Job Title: Area Sales Consultant – Plumbing & Heating / Water Heaters

Industry Sector: HVAC, hot water solutions, continuous flow water heat systems, hot water systems, storage tank, water treatment, solar, solar thermal, gas water heaters, twin flow, heat pumps, heating radiators and water heaters

Area to be covered: North London & East Anglia

Remuneration: £38,000 - £42,000 + £5,000 Bonus

Benefits: Company Car or Allowance + Comprehensive Benefits

The role of the Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating / Water Heaters will involve:

  • Field sales role promoting a manufactured and distributed range of gas water heaters, storage solutions, space heaters, gas fires and solar thermal systems
  • Targeting commercial projects where a lot of water is consumed such as; schools, sports & leisure, hotels, care homes, food & beverage, restaurants, salons etc
  • Spending approx. 50% of your time growing relationships within circa 20 M&E contractors, plumbing & heating contractors / installers on patch
  • Remaining 50% of your time selling through specification to M&E consultants, local authorities and architects
  • Predominantly new business development, this area is currently achieving between £4,000-£10,000 per month, the aim is to grow this to £20,000-£25,000 per month.
  • Top down selling, breaking into the specification market by targeting end users, local authorities and M&E consultants before tracking projects through with the M&E and plumbing contractors and sub contractor / installers
  • Approx. four client meetings per day, four days a week, one day a week working from home (admin)
  • Order values from £1,500 (e.g. one heater and flue in a launderette) up to £20,000 (for multiple heaters on a large site such as a University campus)

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating / Water Heaters experience with:

·         Commercial field sales background from the plumbing & heating industry

·         Technically minded

·         HVAC specification field sales experience with M&E consultants, local authorities and architects is not essential

·         Field sales experience with M&E contractors / plumbing contractors is desirable

·         Ideally knowledge of hot water circuits, gas flues +/or boilers

·         Knowledge of gas water heaters, storage solutions, space heaters, gas fires and solar thermal systems is not essential

·         Excellent listening skills

·         Passion, enthusiasm

·         Ambitious and driven

·         Autonomous
