Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Plumbing & Heating
Industry Sector: Under Floor Heating, Plumbing Contractors, M&E Contractors, Housebuilders, Private Developers, M&E Consultants, Plumbers & Heating Merchants and Builders Merchants
Area to be covered: Scotland – ideally based central belt
Remuneration: £33,000-£38,000 Neg. + 25%-35% Bonus
Benefits: Fully expensed Car & Full Benefits
The role of the Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating will involve:
· Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of underfloor heating products
· 60% stimulating demand with plumbing contractors, M&E contractors and housebuilders/ private developers
· 40% of your time managing and developing relationships with plumbing & heating and builders merchants
· Responsible for circa 50 accounts, mix of national and regional merchants (mostly regional merchants and buying groups)
· Tasked with continual development of merchant base, you first point of contact should be to piggy-back merchant relationships that exist at group level, but not specifically with the underfloor heating division
· Responsibility for circa £1m+ turnover
· Working closely with 2-3 generalist field sales representatives and a BDM, who are motivated to support you with underfloor heating sales
· Inheriting an area currently performing well against budget expectations
· Projects will vary from domestic extensions up to large residential tower blocks and can vary in value from £2,000 up to £500,000
· Working closely with internal support and technical team at head office
· Technical sale requires a features and benefits type of sale
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating with:
· Plumbing or heating industry associated field sales background
· Must have experience of having sold into domestic plumbing contractors or M&E contractors
· Underfloor heating field sales experience is not essential as full product training will be provided
· Stable career background, an occasional short stint is OK, but multiple short moves will not be considered
· Technical background/ comfortable with technical product
· Relationship builder, but must be happy to “ask for the order”
