Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Garage Doors
Industry Sector: Sectional Garage Doors, Roller Garage Doors, Garage Door Installers, General Builders, Building Contractors, Plumbers, Electricians, Specialist Sub-Contractors and Builders Merchants
Area to be covered: South – ideally based South East (around M1/A34 region)
Remuneration: Up to £35,000 + £7,000 Commission

The role of the Area Sales Manager – Garage Doors will involve:
· Field sales position selling a manufactured and distributed range of garage doors
· 50% new business development position, 50% account management
· Responsible for circa £2m turnover and approx. 140 garage door installer relationships
· 20-30 of the existing relationships are capable of doubling in size
· Tasked with achieving £650,000 of new business revenue
· Due to current restrictions, you will be home based for the first three months, ultimately on the road
· Recruiting circa 20-30 additional garage door installer relationships
· Target list of customers will be provided and you will be supported, mentored and trained by our client’s MD
· Typical order values £1,200
· Sales cycles will be short, typically 1-8 weeks
· Daily and weekly report writing, call planning and diary management
- Liaise regularly with national sales manager and MD
- Efficiently manage time and plan work to ensure logical and cost-effective use of time
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Garage Doors with:
- Proven track record in new business development and account management
- Prior experience of having sold to garage door installers is not required
- Must have construction field sales experience with contractors
- Open on product background, will consider experience selling into general builders, building contractors, plumbers, electricians and other specialist sub-contractors
- Product knowledge is not essential as full product training will be provided
- A basic technical understanding of garage doors or related products may be advantageous
· Excellent planning, organisation, time management skills
· Comfortable with features & benefits sales
· Technical, literate, excellent interpersonal skills, eye for detail and ambitious personality
