Area Sales Manager – Cutting Tools and Drilling Equipment

Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Cutting Tools and Drilling Equipment

Industry Sector: Construction Contractors, End Users, Sub Contractors, Diamond Tools, Cutting Tools, Drilling Equipment, Sawing and Demolition Robots, Major Construction Projects

Area to be covered: North West, South Yorkshire & Midlands

Remuneration: Up to £40,000 + Uncapped Commission (£12,000 realistic Year One)

Benefits: Fully expensed VW Transporter Van & Full Benefits

The role of the Area Sales Manager Cutting Tools and Drilling Equipment will involve:

·        Field sales role, selling high end heavy duty commercial diamond tools and equipment such as drilling equipment, power cutters, demolition robots, wall saws, wire saw and floors saws (blades up to 1.5m in diameter)

·        Promoting expensive low volume high value products (e.g. wire saws can be £40,000 each, demolition Robots up to £150,000 for one)

·        Selling into specialist sub contractor end users on construction sites such as; demolition contractors, drilling, sawing and cutting specialist sub contractors

·        80% account development position, you will inherit approx. 50 contractor end user accounts achieving typically turnovers between £10,000-£250,000+

·        20% new business development

·        First year will focus on building relationships, learning the products and applications etc.

·        Typical projects include airports, motorways, big build projects, off-shore, nuclear plants etc.

·        Inheriting an area turning over circa £750,000, which has potential to easily achieve £1m+

·        From time to time you may be required to transport and demonstrate equipment, supported by  a dedicated UK product specialist

·        You will be required to spend time working on construction sites

·        Typically 3-4 customer visits per day

·        Product training will be provided

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Cutting Tools and Drilling Equipment with:

·        Must have experience selling specialist cutting and drilling equipment, targeting major construction projects including; airports, motorways or nuclear power stations

·        Must have sold to contractor end users

·        Comfortable visiting construction sites

·        Proven track record of field sales

·        Ability to sell on value, performance, quality and service and not on price!

·        Consultative in approach

·        Tenacious, driven and ambitious

·        Our client is not open to high volume sales through distribution

·        Comfortable with getting your hands dirty and physically fit and able to demonstrate heavy duty equipment

·        Ideally knowledge of diamond tools and equipment such as power cutters, drilling equipment, demolition robots, wall saws, wire saw and floors saws
