Area Sales Manager – Construction / Roofing Contractor

Job Title: Business Development Manager – Construction / Roofing Contractor

Industry Sector: Specialist Roofing Contractor, Refurbishment, Flat Roofing and Metal Cladding

Areas to be covered: South West London

Remuneration: £30,000-£50,000 + 25%-100% Bonus potential

The role of the Business Development Manager Roofing & Cladding will involve:

·         Field sales position selling our clients specialist roofing contractor services within the roof refurbishment market

·         Providing predominantly roof asset management services, but also preventative maintenance to multinational businesses within the industrial, commercial, public sector and utility organisations such as rail, power, MOD as well as food manufacturing

·         Focussing on large scale projects including metal cladding or flat roofing systems into blue chip companies such as National Grid, B&Q, Scottish Power, Pfizer, United Biscuits, Glaxo, Shell, BP etc.

·         Targeting anyone in charge of building property such as; building surveyors, facilities managers, managing directors or external consultants (sometimes brought in buy large corporate clients)

·         Projects from £30,000 up to £1m+

·         Conducting a CPD per month

·         No revenue target in your first year, approx. £750,000-£1m in year 2

·         Predominantly a new business development position, where you will be expected to follow up with your own contacts, some leads to via manufacturers, as well as inbound enquires from the office / website

·         You will spend the majority of your time with business to business end users, and the remainder of your time with FM providers, architects and some existing clients within a national agreement portfolio

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development Manager from the Roofing / Cladding industry with:

·         Must have a field sales proven track record in the construction industry

·         Ideally sold roofing contractor services / solutions, also open to roofing manufacturer background

·         Ability to call on end user clients such as: property owners, procurement managers, bursars, building surveyor practises, facilities managers, managing directors and external consultants

·         Knowledge of liquid applied roofing, flat roofing systems or metal cladding is ideal

·         Pragmatic attitude, following an enquiry through to order

·         An understanding of design / estimating, or an ability to read technical drawings is not essential but may be useful

·         Autonomous, innovative thinker with high energy levels, passion and an attitude of going the extra mile

·         Ability to absorb technical information

·         Computer literate
