OVERVIEW

The Manager, Ad Sales is responsible for working on advertising solutions across three different regions. They will be heavily involved in client management, execution and delivery on an international scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Ad Sales team to deliver advertising revenue targets for NBCU channels in the individual market territories
  • Work with Commercial and finance to establish regional revenue targets and regular monitoring performance against the targets
  • Manage day-to-day advertising sales agencies, local sales teams, media agencies and direct clients in the region to maximise advertising sales and sponsorship revenues across the channel portfolio.
  • Africa, Central Europe and Benelux are the key areas of focus.
  • Manage bespoke sponsorship projects from the brief stage through to creative proposal and execution/delivery/post campaign analysis stages :-

- Create compelling sales decks for major sponsorship tentpoles for Africa Commercial Director
- Strategise and create brand integration opportunities around Local Productions
- Devise proactive sponsorship solutions to drive incremental revenue
- Brief in and collaborate closely with Marketing, PR, Social, Programming, Creative and Finance teams to ensure sponsorships go to air timely and smoothly  
- For sponsorships on E!, brief in and maintain regular communication with E! Marketing, Digital and Traffic teams based in LA  
- Manage local production crew, talents and scripts when covering client events
- Build and maintain a clear Sponsorship Cost Tracker document  
- Represent Ad Sales in campaign planning meetings to ensure sponsorship airtime/TVRs gets logged in media plans  
- Oversee direct bookings with Commercial Operations team
- Draft legal contracts for direct Africa bookings and arrange for billing
- Consult with local markets for potential Symphony Sponsorship opportunities

  • Work effectively with ad sales teams outside of the EM region to share best practices, establish new processes and identify new revenue opportunities in EM region
  • Contribute to growth of the channels audience in line with business plan in the Emerging Markets advertising sales territories
  • Work with Senior Director, Ad Sales to identify opportunities and devise strategy for the expansion of NBCU Ad Sales business within the region
  • Visit clients and agents in region, attend relevant trade shows and present NBCU channel updates in each region quarterly

  • Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
  • Achieve growth and hit aggressive sales targets; 
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting client and agency relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs; 
  • Manage growth and development of Ad Sales Coordinator

 

ABOUT YOU
 
  • Proven success in revenue generated sales
  • Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting and exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • An experienced TV/Cable executive with knowledge of the Central Europe, the media market and the key ad sales and affiliate partners and competitors
  • Experience in managing relationships with clients
  • Good knowledge of NBCU channel brands
  • Able to apply creative approach for client’s solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage time, meet tight deadlines and cope with pressure
  • High degree of accuracy in written communication
  • Good communication and presentation skills, good networker
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Competency in all relevant software packages
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Comfortable working remotely with local markets and core team in LA
  • Experience in stakeholder communication within a matrix structure
  • Desirable: Experience in marketing, trade marketing or advertising solutions with a keen commercial acumen
