In keeping with its watchmaking origins, last year EPSON acquired ORIENT, an in-house mechanical watch manufacturer founded in the 1950's. ORIENT has been a global brand for over 50 years, and now enjoys marketing and product management support through Epson Europe. Today, we are seeking to recruit a talented Account Manager, reporting into the Senior Business Manager, to support local sales and marketing for ORIENT throughout EMEA. The successful candidate will have extensive experience within the watch market, both in distribution and retail, and will be a specialist in the field. Responsible for executing Epson's go-to-market strategies and managing our distributors, the right candidate will have the passion, enthusiasm and skills to ultimately ensure an increase in sales of ORIENT watches.

This role is based out of our Sales and Marketing Offices, in Hemel Hempstead, UK and will require regular travel around EMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Process:

  • Develop and implement the business sales plan for designated customer / reseller base to generate business growth and maximise sales of ORIENT products
  • Understand the addressable market size and potential of the specific market, and use the information to support distributors and develop the existing business portfolio
  • Research, identify and engage potential distributors in new European territories
  • In conjunction with Business Management define and develop the ORIENT go to market plan
  • Qualify all prospects using agreed metrics, develop the profile of the distributors and their marketing plans
  • Produce account plans for each key customer which detail:
  • key criteria (budget, data, stakeholder analysis)
  • solution and all engaged 3rd party providers
  • value proposition and technical benefits identified
  • Monitor and evaluate market activities and take appropriate actions in order to maintain a competitive advantage
    • Monitor and report authorised and unauthorised advertising and sales
    • Ensure effective execution of the ORIENT marketing strategy through distributors


  • Develop strong relationships with key decision makers within target market sectors
  • Develop long term relationships with distributors and external key influencers


  • Production of all distributor promotional project plans in clearly visible format, to ensure access to and awareness of all current activities
  • Analyse and track sales against budget, providing accurate and timely forecasts, based on deal potential in the sales pipeline
  • Identify key products for each market and collect forecast enrichment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A strong specialist background in the European watch industry
  • Experienced working in a Sales environment with proven record of achieving success through the development of profitable sales
  • Technical expertise in the watch industry and able to communicate and demonstrate the value and technical benefits of ORIENT/TRUME products
  • Ability to build and proactively manage relationships over a long term to generate business growth
  • Commercially aware and numerate, used to operating in a solutions driven environment
  • Experience working with key decision makers to develop account plans and implement tactical solutions
  • Strong negotiating, influencing and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and manage priorities and risk in commercial terms
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong IT skills, including a good understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Other languages will be beneficial
