Job Title:  Account Executive

Location: Edinburgh head office with travel to Glasgow.

Salary: £22,679 - £28,350

Job type: 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri) Full time, Permanent

The role:

To play a crucial role in executing Change Waste Recycling’s account management strategy for clients. This strategy focuses on added value, upsell, and retention.

Main objectives and goals:

Account Management

  • Manage a customer base across Edinburgh and Glasgow with an annual spend of under £10,000.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for customer issues, serving as a key liaison between customers, CWR Operations or Suppliers for service development and issue resolution.
  • Address customer queries, such as pricing, and identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Conduct regular client review meetings.
  • Proactively engage with at-risk customers to meet their needs while maintaining profitability.

Pricing and upselling activities

  • Identify new business and upselling opportunities.
  • Implement strategies to add value to clients within the portfolio.
  • Lead customer discussions on annual price adjustments and negotiate contract terms as
  • needed.
  • Manage end-to-end processes for customer cancellations, negotiations, and retention within
  • the account portfolio.
  • Explore opportunities to cross-sell services offered by the broader CWR business.

Reporting

  • Prepare monthly tailored reports for clients, including carbon reports.
  • Prepare monthly reports for your manager on your customer base, covering customer issues (resolved and outstanding), retention, outcomes of client review meetings and possible upsell or cross sell opportunities.

Person Specification

  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers and internal teams, including Customer Service, Contract Coordination, Supply Chain, and Credit Control.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.
  • Self-confidence, enthusiasm, and resilience.
  • Proven experience in Customer Relationship or Account Management.
  • A track record of meeting and exceeding targets.

Salary and benefits

  • 32 days per annum plus 3 public holidays
