In order to attain its planned growth SDV UK has created a new post of Strategic Sales Director to support the Commercial Director in the development of new sales opportunities globally.

The role will involve close liaison with the Commercial Division of the Company and interface with the Sales and LOGIX teams as well as Directors with overseas responsibility for Europe and the Rest of the World.

Specific areas of responsibility will be to:
  • Bring new strategic / Big Ticket / global sales opportunities to SDV in line with the industry vertical and geographically specific objectives of the group. 
  • Achieve a defined sales quota / target GTM in Strategically important large key customers.
  • Focus on ensuring that those clients allocated to him/her will be managed at the highest level within their organisations to ensure that existing business is being handled in the most appropriate manner and that all clients are exploited for future business and these opportunities are developed. 
  • Develop a structured and time definite sales programme to protect and grow existing and new business opportunities, to include performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones. 
  • In liaison with the product and business unit heads ensure competitive pricing is available for key clients at all times, and with SDV Solutions team, clearly identify and propose cost improvement programmes for those clients and SDV.
  • For Key global clients, work with UK RDM's and global network contacts to ensure SDV network offices have agreements that are properly structured to take into consideration all necessary criteria, including on and off shore profit sharing. 
  • In liaison with the product and business unit heads, and the quality manager ensure that appropriate performance and customer care levels are consistently delivered to key clients.
  • Help to develop review and measurement processes that ensure customer recognition of high satisfaction ratings in respect of SDV performance.
  • This position will require extensive domestic and overseas travel.
     

The successful applicant will: 
  • Already have a significant number of mature existing relationships with senior decision makers in key strategic global accounts.
  • Have a background and understanding of international logistics with a proven ability to develop and drive forward commercial sales strategies in the logistics, distribution or supply chain industry 
  • Possess proven overseas experience of network sales in one or more of the following markets China, Asia Pacific, Indian Sub Continent, Europe, Africa or USA. 
  • Have a strong track record of customer service, developing existing clients and developing new business, ideally with blue chip organisations 
  • Be able to build long-standing customer relationships based on mutual understanding and respect 
  • Posses drive and ambition, and will be an excellent communicator and a natural networker who is able to influence at all levels
