Looking for the opportunity to create and mould a sales team whilst working for a hugely successful commercially minded membership organisation? My client, the Medical Defence Union, are currently looking for a Membership Sales Manager to do this in their impressive London offices.

Based in London the Medical Defence Union's membership department is responsible for maintaining contact with all members, helping them with any questions they may have about their cover with the MDU, and ensuring that the specific needs of their working circumstances are met. The department currently consists of an inbound contact centre, a correspondence team, and three administrative functions.
The MDU are now looking to create a sales and retention team who will make and receive inbound and outbound calls from prospective and existing members. The nature of these calls may be to highlight the benefits of MDU membership, to guide prospective members through the application process, to encourage existing members to pay their subscription or adopt different features of MDU membership, and to conduct member satisfaction surveys.
The role of Membership Sales Manager will be to recruit the new team, and contribute towards the team's activity areas, targets and operating processes. As well as contributing towards the work of the team, the Sales Manager will also be responsible for liaising with other departments within the MDU, as well as coaching and training the team and dealing with all day-to-day management issues within the team.

The successful Membership Sales Manager will have:

  • Experience of creating a sales team from scratch

  • Knowledge and ability to enforce capability and disciplinary action
