Courier and Freight Sales - Account Manager

£27K Basic, £36K OTE + car and benefits

Based in London

Our client is a global market leader in the courier industry, operating on every continent and in over 220 territories worldwide, working in overland, air and ocean freight. They also offer a wide range of tailor-made solutions in contract logistics, working to the highest standards.

Successful applicants will manage and develop their assigned field sales territory in order to maintain and grow our client's market position, whilst achieving individual sales targets and meeting key customer needs. You will build strong relationships and develop a portfolio of prospects and existing customers. You will also be responsible for establishing customer agreements and ensuring that pricing guidelines are always applied and profitability targets for customers are met. New account managers will also need to establish a prospects pipeline to support this approach, and exploit all new opportunities to ensure maximum penetration in the assigned territory.

Successful applicants must have at least 1-2 years field sales background in a consultative selling environment within the service industry, as well as first-rate business/commercial acumen. Our client is looking for individuals with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to maintain a strong customer focus. Problem solving and decision making skills are also necessary. A university degree and experience in the segmented service industry are desirable, but not essential.
