An international leader in the development, manufacture and supply of specialised medical equipment, our client is looking to further develop it's exceptional team of Territory Managers through the recruitment of a number of dynamic, hard working, proactive individuals.
Recognised all over the world as a leader in the provision of high quality electro-optical products - such as cameras, microscopes and endoscopic equipment - for medical and industrial applications, this organisation has built a reputation for excellence in both the products they supply and the service they deliver. They are widely known as the innovators in the industry and many of the imaging products used in surgery today, were introduced first by this company.
Home based within your territory, you will be responsible for managing and nurturing existing accounts and identifying and developing new business opportunities within Private and NHS hospitals. You will typical have around 100 hospitals in your area, with between 30 - 50 "live" / key accounts at any one time. Your clients will be hospital doctors, consultants and surgical nurses so you must be adaptable and flexible in communication style, and be sensitive to the pressures that they are under of a day-to-day basis.
Being such a well-known company, you tend to be following up the leads that come in from prospective new clients, rather than cold calling. But when you are in a hospital, it makes sense to drop in on other potential contacts and introduce yourself. You will be responsible for effectively managing your leads, nurturing and developing relationships with new and existing accounts and making sure that your customers are happy with the service you provide. If you do that, they have no need to go elsewhere.
The territory role is a tough role. The hours are long, you will work hard and you will find yourself in some difficult environments - ones that "normal" people would never have the opportunity to experience. But it is possibly one of the most rewarding roles in sales. Putting aside the financial reward, you will see first-hand how the products you provide make a real difference. Put bluntly, these products save lives and minimise the risk involved in surgery and recovery time - they are important, and it is you providing them.
Looking for someone who is hard working, career focused, articulate, confident and who has a passion for learning. Someone who is resilient, driven and motivated. It is also really important that you are organised. You are responsible for your territory, and it is your own slice of the business - it is down to you to manage your time effectively to deliver the fantastic service that the company is renowned for.
