Application Scientist – Technical Sales – Cambridge. Zest Medical Scientific recruitment division is working in association with a market leading Life Science provider in order to source an outstanding individual for a technical sales role. Due to continued growth our client has a requirement for an Application Sales Specialist to grow and develop new business in line with company objectives across the Eastern territory, which comprises of East Anglia, Cambridgeshire and Essex.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Genomics, Proteomics and/or Cell Biology working specifically with applications such as PCR, QPCR, Sequencing, Electrophoresis, Protein Purification and Protein Characterisation. Primary responsibilities will be to plan and organise sales activities to ensure effective sales contact throughout the target customer base. Developing strong relationships with key end user groups, building ongoing technical dialogue and to work closely with the organisations marketing function in order to deliver new sales opportunities at a product/application level.

Delivering one of the industry’s broadest selections of laboratory products, our client is recognized as a world leader in serving science. Consequently, the selection criteria for this role is both demanding and challenging. It is essential that applicants are educated to degree level (minimum) in a relevant Life Science discipline, ideally PhD level and have additionally forged a career in research. Alternatively, we would particularly receptive to receiving applications from Life Science graduates with commercial sales experience across the East Anglia territory. The successful candidate will demonstrate a number of key personal qualities; however, more specifically it is essential that candidates’ possess strong communication skills and a team oriented attitude.

In return the successful applicant will be rewarded with a generous salary ranging from £26,000 - £36,000 (DOE) + Bonus (20-25%), Company Car, Healthcare, Pension and a range of additional benefits.
