Job Description

The Director of Export Sales is responsible for the export sales of the Companys well-established portfolio of laboratory consumables and supplies across Africa, Asia Pacific, India, the Middle East and US. 

 The key aim of the role is to harness and develop the sales organisation and the distributor network to ensure business growth.  This will be done by retaining and growing major accounts and by an aggressive strategy to win new business.

 Key Responsibilities

y       Ensure all existing major contracts are retained and new major contract opportunities are won under commercially competitive terms either directly or with the support of the Companys primary distributor network;

y       Evaluate the direct and indirect sales staff provide coaching, training and development as required;

y       Establish close working relationships with all areas of the organisation, distributor networks, suppliers, marketing and key customers.

 The Employer

The Company is a worldwide leading supplier of laboratory consumables and supplies, providing an extensive portfolio of high-quality products from a wide range of manufacturers.  Principal customers are major pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, technology, clinical, food processing and consumer product companies, universities, education and research institutes, governmental agencies and environmental testing organisations.

 The Candidate

Most suited to this role of Director of Export Sales would be someone with a significant and successful track record in growing the sales/margin revenue of a major sales function, preferably in a distribution based environment.

 The ideal candidate will have sales management experience, ideally with full profit and loss responsibility.  A strong commercial awareness of the scientific marketplace is essential.

 Strong leadership and motivational skills would serve this role well, as would a pro-active and effective use of all the business tools available, to ensure success.

 This is an exciting and dynamic new position that will require significant travel overseas and visits to the Companys offices in the Midlands on a monthly/quarterly basis.

The candidate can live anywhere in the UK although ideally with good access to motorwat networks and airports.

A degree or equivalent in any biological, chemical or life science subject is essential.

Package

£65,000 to £70,000 salary (depending on experience and ability), plus 20% bonus OTC, cmpany car and other attractive benefits.
