Instrument & Electrical Technician in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
This company is looking for an Instrument & Electrical Technician to take ownership of the installation, commission and maintenance of all Instrument / Electrical equipment on site.
The organisation is a NYSE listed speciality Chemicals company. Their South Wales facility specialises in the manufacture of fumed silica, sold into a range of end markets including electronics and automotive.
TITLE: Instrument & Electrical Technician
LOCATION: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
SALARY: Circa £28k, dependent on experience

The Instrument & Electrical Technician role will include the following roles and responsibilities:
-Taking ownership of the installation, commissioning and maintenance of all Instrument / Electrical equipment
-Ensuring equipment is maintained at its optimum performance
-Supporting a 24-hour maintenance cover on callout via a roster.
-Defining and recording work method statements, risk assessments and preventative maintenance systems
-Being responsible for planning and organising work that relevant equipment is available when required
-Communication with co-workers and contractors to aid project improvements and fault resolution
The ideal Instrument & Electrical Technician will possess the following skills and attributes:
-Substantial experience in a similar industry; chemical or allied industry
-Technical expertise in all levels of modern instrumentation within a chemical processing plant
-Competence in a full range of maintenance skills of electrical control equipment
-HNC or equivalent in craft skills
-Working knowledge of Hazardous area electrical equipment, maintenance and protection concepts, preferably attained "CompEx certification"
- Technical expert in all levels of modern instrumentation expected to be found on a chemical processing plant including trouble shooting and calibration
