Overall Job purpose
The role requires detailed design skills specific to the individuals technology specialisation (Netapp) complemented by an architecture-level appreciation of all relevant complementary technologies.
A core function of this role is the ability to translate a customers business requirement into a ''best of breed'' technical architecture.
Typically involved from the pre-sales or planning stages of a customer engagement the Technical Consultant will be resonsible for conceptualising and designing to a detailed level the overall Netapp Storage solution.

Main Duties of the Job
Perform presales activity in support of storage business development.
Development and delivery of technology specific presentations for project workshop environments.
Maintain knowledge of project delivery methodoligies and technology roadmaps in the particular field of specialisation
Maintain a broad understanding of competitive products to the individuals specialisation and, where appropriate, design skills and accreditations in these products.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry standards relevant to the role.
To adhere to all company policies and processes a communicated by line management in order to maintain corporate ISO accreditation levels.
To obtain and maintain technical accreditations as required by management in accordance with the guidlines provided by manufacturers and software vendors.
Implementation to the best practice of NetApp Storage technology areas.

Skills Knowledge and Experience
Graduate or equivalent experience
The applicant will typically have 10 years plus experience of working within storage based environments, delivering enterprise scale projects.
Appropriate Professional qualifications;- NetApp NCDA
Additional skills in VMware and server offerings
Commercially aware with strong client facing
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
Positive and constructive attitude in all work related matters
Essential interpersonal skills include planning, delegation, assertiveness and time management skills
An understanding of project management fundamentals
Some hands-on technical capability.
