Business Development Manager Software Development
Cambridge
£40,000 Basic (OTE £100,000)

Our client is the UK developer and supplier of a successful and innovative software application development platform. As they are now seeking to expand their sales activities, an opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join their team.

This is the ideal role for a highly capable B2B sales professional, with a good knowledge of software and software development, looking to further their career with a successful and established company.

As a Business Development Manager your focus will be on selling our clients software products to a wide range of client sectors including local government, corporate and private.

Leading and motivating the sales team, you will ensure targets are met. You will also be responsible for managing bids and executing complex and multi-level solution sales.

To be considered for the role of Business Development Manager, you must have:

- An up-to-date knowledge of software, including development software, tools and market trends
- A good knowledge of a majority of the following: SOA, EAI, Electronic Forms, BPM, open source, Web 2, CRM, ERP, ETL, CMS
- Business to business (B2B) sales experience
- Previous experience of working with local or national government sectors, including knowledge of the tendering and procurement processes

Additionally, you must have first class written, spoken and presentation skills as well as the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels. A high level of self-motivation, drive, tenacity and the determination to succeed is also required.

Although not essential, previous experience of leading a sales team would be an advantage to your application.
