JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
PACKAGE: £Neg+ £Bonus + Car + Benefits + Relocation Expenses.
LOCATION: Cumbria UK Wide
Established over three decades ago, my client has had enviable success over its trading history and currently enjoys super brand status within the presentation and display product marketplace. Today the company boasts a proud reputation in the industry having a large portion of the UK market share, a number of national sites and a loyal employee base which it continually invests in. The company sells its extensive range of products through a number of channels including, OE and AV dealers, Private and Public sector catalogues and on-line traders. Historically the company targets customer groups that operate within the Educational Sector The organization is currently demonstrating its diversification by developing their manufacturing capabilities, opening up European markets and recruiting fresh talent into the commercial operation. The company is now looking for an individual to spearhead their challenge in the on-line sector as well as develop some other key new and existing channels for the business.
The role has the responsibility to deliver incremental increase in both revenue and profit from the on-line traders sector as well as a number of other assigned channels. The role will deliver £2 million worth of revenue per annum with the remit to increase this figure two fold over the next two years. To achieve this you will:
· Identify, approach, close and manage online trader accounts across the full product range.
· Work with marketing to segment the dealer base and target a greater proliferation of products across key accounts, where relevant meet and support the dealer base in their positioning of the portfolio.
· Act autonomously in delivering business planning and execution whilst utilising all the supporting functions of the business.
· Work with other private catalogues and buying consortia not related to education in developing the market position and penetration.
· Conduct competitor analysis and keep abreast of market changes.
· Support the board and other areas of the business as and when required.
In such a closed industry it is unlikely that the successful applicant will be working in this specific market. · Experience in highly productized markets which have simple, tangible products.
· Experience of working in a catalogue based business.
· Experience of selling through on-line trade accounts.
· Experience of dealer networks.
Although the role involves national travel the successful applicant will be based at the company headquarters in Cumbria and therefore candidates will be required to relocate to the area. The company is committed to pay relocation expenses. The package is negotiable based on experience.
