As a leading supplier of high quality software and services to the healthcare sector, our client is a market leader in patient and staff information systems specialising in NHS, Private and Not for Profit organisations. Due to this niche market rapidly expanding, they are now looking to recruit a Field Sales Executive / Business Development Executive to generate new sales for the company.
With over 120 organisations already using our client’s software, and as one of only 6 approved suppliers to the NHS in this niche market – this is a unique sales opportunity to join a highly successful team whilst earning a great salary.
Our client isn’t looking for a computer specialist - rather someone who can generate leads and deal with their prospects in a confident, professional and personal manner. For this role you’ll need to be a dynamic, resourceful and results driven individual, who thrives on seeking out new challenges and the unique satisfaction that comes from generating the lead, closing the sale, and signing the contract.
As a Field Sales Executive / Business Development Executive you will be responsible for selling our client’s software systems to primarily the NHS and healthcare sectors, as well as other non healthcare areas. The potential earnings are excellent because you will be working on deals ranging from £20K to £200K - in which you will be paid 10% commission on each successful sale.
In this role you will:
- generate leads via methods agreed with the management team
- travel to client sites to demonstrate and sell the systems
- answer prospect queries regarding use in live situations
- maintain pre-sale communication with prospects throughout the closing of the sale and contract signing
To succeed as a Field Sales Executive / Business Development Executive you must have proven sales experience, ideally from within software sales. You will also need a current full UK driving licence and your own car. An understanding of public sector procurement tenders would be advantageous to your application.
This role brings considerable autonomy so you will need to be astute, highly motivated and have plenty of ideas and drive. You will also need strong interpersonal skills, and a highly organised and flexible approach. Though this role does not require a technical background, the successful applicant will need to be able to understand a customer’s technical requirements and issues.

This position will involve travel throughout the UK and Ireland and the successful applicant will be expected to be away from home up to 3 nights a week (though this is usually less).
