As one of the most innovative companies in its FMCG Category, our client is definitely moving in the right direction. Set up in the early 1970s this client has grown from strength to strength. In 2005 their current Managing Director, who is well know within FMCG circles from his previous role where he quadrupled sales and created a household brand, came on board as the majority equity holder. His new ideas and unwavering beliefs in the quality of the products, established account relationships, tight, cost effective supply chain and his entrepreneurial, "can do - will do" attitude has seen this client start to revolutionise the own label canned produce market.
Last year the continued implementation of this believe saw the appointment of further personnel throughout the company who have delivered phenomenal results and strengthened the company's reputation with the retailers.
Due to this growth the need for an experienced Buyer to join the team has come about. As a Buyer you will be assisting with the purchasing of canned goods. You will responsible for sourcing and developing new products with both existing and new suppliers, as well as being accountable for the compilation of price offers from suppliers and the monitoring of the performance of products and suppliers against specification/customer requirements. The successful individual will be a strong negotiator, from a food background, with a minimum of 2-3 years commercial experience.
This is a very "hands-on" role, and requires a certain type of individual to really rise to the challenge. However, the successful candidate will be someone who really wants to make a name for themselves in the FMCG Arena, as has our client's Managing Director.
