Our client is a major player within the Conferences and Exhibitions sector and operate in a number of vertical markets including: Telecoms & Technology, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Finance, Maritime, Legal, Energy and Training & Development. They have been running these events for a number of years and are known within the industry for being very innovative, creative and cutting edge.
About the Role
We are now looking to recruit for a Sponsorship Sales Executive for the Telecoms & Technology division based in Central London. You will be reporting directly to the Sales Director and will be responsible for selling high value Sponsorship packages into senior level decision makers within the Telecoms & Technology market for a series of established events that take place throughout the world.
In addition to strategic sales and account management, the role encourages creative thinking, customer service and a dynamic approach to product development. The successful candidate will join a highly successful sales team who have exceeded budgets for the past few years despite a very challenging economic climate.
Around 20% of the role will be field based going out to pitch for new business and you will also provide onsite support to clients during each event. There will also be some international travel involved to events throughout the world with a focus on emerging markets including: South Africa, Las Vegas, Dubai, Nigeria, Amsterdam and Barcelona.
Candidate Requirements
· Degree educated
· Minimum of 2 years Business 2 Business sales experience ideally from within Sponsorship or Exhibition Sales however we will also consider sales and account management candidates who have key transferable skills from a related sector including media sales
· Proven record of over achieving sales targets
· Excellent negotiation and rapport building skills
· Good business acumen
· Resilient, determined and able to work under pressure
· Target focussed and money driven
· Idea generator, initiative-taker and ability to think outside the box
· Strong drive and ambition
· Team player
