Job Description

Professional Polishing Services has been established for 25 years and is the UK's premier stainless steel polishing company. With both UK and worldwide clients it offers a bespoke service that has built it's reputation on flexibility and commitment to deadlines. This expanding company is probably the largest in the UK. Professional Polishing is based in Birmingham, West Midlands and is now looking to recruit an individual with a high level of enthusiasm, friendly approach and great initiative as an office based Sales Supervisor, with the ability to boost sales and become involved in further expansion by obtaining new business.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing business opportunities as well as maintaining existing client accounts.  Achieving new business will be a significant part of your remit and you will be expected to make both initial and follow up contacts with potential customers as well as delegating leads and enquiries to your Sales Team. Your previous experience within a customer focused environment is a necessity.

  • As a senior point of contact, you should be able to deal effectively with customers both on the phone and face to face with good attention to detail.
  • You will have a structured and disciplined approach to the working day not only for yourself but also for your team.
  • You must be able to delegate efficiently and to monitor the level at which your team work.
  • You should also be willing to go the extra mile to build on the excellent customer relations we already insist on.
  • Sales records should be immaculately kept ensuring that you always know which customers require more frequent handling, and which enquiries are won or lost and, more importantly, why?
  • Knowledge of the stainless steel industry is a bonus, but not essential, as full training in products and services will be given.
  • You will be able to direct the team to be proactive on both servicing existing accounts and generating additional orders / accounts on a daily basis.
  • You will be able to work well with the production team and the operators to ensure service and quality is maintained at a very high standard.

The Person:

  • Knowledge of Sales within an Industrial arena is essential.
  • You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills.  Working to and creating targets and ensuring that the customer always comes first.
  • You will be able to manage both individual accounts and also be able to retain an overall view of the customer base.
  • You will be enthusiastic and be able to project this to the team and to clients.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate on a daily basis but also plan ahead.
  • Experience of dealing with a customer base by phone, email and face to face as well as being able to multi task.
