Sales Engineer

Excellent opportunity to join our well established client based within the manufacturing and engineering sector. They require an experienced Sales Engineer to join them covering the West Midlands. This position also offers Company car or mileage allowance for use of personal car, an excellent bonus scheme based on the achievement of agreed targets plus company pension scheme.

Principal job functions:-

- searching for new clients who could benefit from company products or services and maximizing customer potential in designated regions;

- traveling to visit potential clients;

- establishing new, and maintaining existing, long-term relationships with customers;

- managing and interpreting customer requirements - listening to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs;

- calculating client quotations within pricing authority levels;

- negotiating offer and contract terms, to meet both client and company needs;

- negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions within delegated authority;

- administering client accounts;

- negotiating price increases;

- reporting regularly on activities and sales project progress;

- meeting targets for sales growth, new business and new product sales;

- recording and maintaining client contact data;

- coordinating sales projects;

- supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as required;

- making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs;

- providing pre/post-sales technical assistance and product education;

- liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts;

- solving client problems;

- helping in the design of custom-made products;

- Extensive UK and, occasionally, international travel will be required

Qualifications and Experience:-

- Degree in engineering (mechanical, systems, mechatronics or electronics)

- HND/HNC or equivalent qualifications in a relevant subject may also be acceptable.

- Candidates without formal qualifications will be considered if their level of experience is exceptional.

- Experience in a customer facing role with personal responsibility for sales success.

Territory / Location

- The initial territory will be the West Midlands All applicants must be eligible to work in the EU.
