The Sales Recruitment Network is seeking an Area Sales Manager to sell laser cutting services to a range of industrial customers in sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, architectural and shopfitting & display. The territory will cover Northern England/ Midlands from the Scottish borders to a line roughly from the Humber to the Bristol Channel. Base salary to £25K depending on industry experience, OTE to £27K, plus car or allowance, pension, laptop, phone.

Area / location: Northern England (Scottish border to Midlands) ideally based within easy access of the M62/ M6/ M1

Brief job description:
Established over 25 years ago, our client is now one of the largest laser cutting companies in the UK. They are able to offer not only sub-contract laser cutting, but a full fabrication service with many parts supplied fully finished. They are a fast growing business and employ over 40-people between two sites.
Increasing the level of business within a defined territory will the primary task and this will be achieved by working to underpin our client's existing business, re-establishing contact with lapsed customers and developing new opportunities. This will be done by working from a combination of our client's own extensive database, and the successful applicant's own contacts and through prospecting. Due to the size of the area, some overnight trips will be part of the job and long days with lots of driving will be the norm. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Sales Manager and first and foremost, must be a good sales person, committed and wanting to succeed. You will be able to communicate at all levels and be focused on building and maintaining good long term business relationships. Ideally you will have an engineering background or experience in sheet metal or fabrication and will have a good work history showing stability and long term commitment to previous employers. You will need to be well organised and goal orientated and be based currently within the previously defined area i.e. within easy access of the M62, M1 or M6.
