Job Description
Technical Design Engineer - Power Storage Units
Abertilery, Gwent
Up to £35,000 DOE
Revolutionising the production of batteries worldwide, our client is a high growth company that supplies component substrates to a multi-billion dollar power storage market. Batteries incorporating their substrates can now be virtually any shape or size, and aim to be more reliable than those using traditional technology. They are now looking to recruit a Technical Design Engineer to join their team in Abertilery.
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, as a Technical Design Engineer you will work closely with engineering teams to provide technical input into the design, and you will be responsible for producing/maintaining manufacturing drawings and generating customer specific technical documentation to ISO standards. You will interact effectively with Business Development, Manufacturing and R&D to confirm design performance/verification.
As a Technical Design Engineer you will support customers with their battery designs, provide product training, test and analyse problems, and respond to all technical enquiries in a professional and competent manner. Travel to customer sites, in Asia, USA and Europe, will be required to facilitate this process.
To succeed in this position you must have a proven track record of excellence in the use of CAD packages, ideally 3D, (training will be given on other CAD systems as necessary), and project management.
Experience gained in the battery industry is preferred but not essential, as is experience of moulding operations and/or mould tool design. Candidates with relevant experience from other engineering backgrounds will also be considered. You will probably be educated to degree or HND level (or equivalent).
The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers both written and verbally is key to your success. Previous customer/sales support experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be given.
To apply for the role of Technical Design Engineer, please simply send your CV and a covering letter via the button shown. If your skills and experience meet with any of our client's requirements and/or needs, we will provide our clients with your full details so that they can consider whether you may be suitable for the vacancy advertised.
