Job Description

Senior Sales Engineer, Power Transmission, South East and Midlands, £35,000 Basic, £45,000 uncapped OTE + car and significant benefits. Major manufacturer of power transmission products equipment require a business development oriented Sales Engineer with the potential to grow into the National Sales Manager os a specialist division within one year. The ideal candidate will be looking for their first step into sales management and will be the kind of person that demonstrates continuous improvement and sales achievement within industrial sales throughout their CV. The role is looking after a specific product range and the business strategy is to split this into a dedicated division that you will lead, reporting into an award winning Sales Director. Taking the division from £450K to £1M within 2 years (competitors are all selling £2M+ of the product so this is achievable through hard work, discipline and dedication) you will be supported by a dedicated Internal Sales Engineer. There is the business plan and budget to increase this to a team of four within 2 years and the ideal candidate will have proven sales experience within power transmission, i.e. drives, controls, gears, belt drives, clutches, motors, inverters, chain drives, linear motion, bearings, belts, couplings, hydraulic power, Actuators, Adjustable Speed Drives, etc.

Working with your distribution network to secure high valued project business you will possess excellent rapport building and communication skills to ensure that your distributors sell your products over competing products. This side of the role also involves training the distributors on new products and training their new members of staff on your product range and its associated features and benefits. You will lead by example and be a natural coach that is able to get the best out of people by nurturing talent and encouraging continuous development (the kind of person that reads books on sales and is always looking at new and innovative ways to increase business and their own sales skills)

As a person you will be honest, trustworthy and credible with immediate gravitas and the ability to quickly gain the respect of your peers in sales. As a sales professional you will take the approach of being a 'trusted advisor' and genuinely seek 'win-win' partnerships for long term growth alongside your distributor network. You will not be a 'job hopper' and your CV will demonstrate logical career progression and loyalty.
