MECHANICAL ENGINEER
A Premier Consultancy offer a vast array of professional consultant solution to the Manufacturing industry are looking for a Mechanical Engineer provide mechanical engineering input in the execution of pharmaceutical, Chemical and Food based proposals, studies and engineering projects.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
·Provide sales and proposal support to the sales and proposal departments
·To carry out concept and design studies.
·Responsibility as lead engineer in ensuring that mechanical design is carried out according to program and within budgeted man hours.
·Responsible for ensuring the pharmaceutical, health, safety & environmental issues are fully considered on a project.
·Responsible for ensuring cost effective innovative designs are produced.
·Responsible for carrying out technical audits on projects.
·Leadership of hazard studies.
·Maintain current awareness of mechanical engineering standards, techniques and equipment in primary and secondary pharmaceutical and biotech processing.
·To assist in the development and maintenance of Engineering Design Standards
MAIN DUTIES WITHIN KEY AREAS:
·Program preparation, preparation of man hour estimates and monitoring and control of mechanical man hours.
·Carry out mechanical design work, including:-
·Design concept and layout development
·Supervise plant layout and pipe work design including 3D assembly modeling. Preparation of equipment and package mechanical specifications and in-line items , technical appraisals and selection of plant equipment.
·Ensure design complies with the latest legistration including Pressure Equipment Directive.
·Generation of the installation specifications
·Control of project files.
·Preparation and implementation of detail project program.
·Site/Sales support.
·Technical Audits.
·Appraisals.
·Ensure effective inter/multi-discipline co-ordination on projects.
·Ensure output of project team is in compliance with contract.
·Assist in up-dating and maintaining the mechanical standards for primary and secondary plants
QUALIFICATIONS:
HNC Mechanical Engineering and suitable qualifications/experience to qualify for CEng and MIMechE membership.
Desirable: BSc Mechanical Engineering; CEng; MIMechE.
PERSONAL APTITUDES RELEVANT TO JOB:
Leadership, planning, controlling, monitoring and organizing. Good attention to detail. Must be capable of making effective presentations. Open minded and self motivated.

Professional/smart appearance which would satisfy the standards of the Company particularly when meeting clients. Can expect evenings and weekends to be occasionally impinged upon as project demands.
