Job Description

Our client is a successful distributor of industrial and marine engines. Due to continued development they are seeking an experienced Sales Manager with experience in Marine sales to join their team and help drive the business forward.

The successful candidate will be dealing with an existing client base that is in the south of England as well as prospecting for new business.

The role includes:

  1. Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity.
  2. Plan and manage personal business portfolio/territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy.
  3. Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
  4. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfaction.
  5. Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems.
  6. Plan/carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, eg., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing.
  7. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
  8. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  9. Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  10. Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
  11. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
  12. Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales driven person with a background in Marine Sales. Our client is offering a basic salary c£35k plus a bonus of c£3k, car, mobile, laptop and a pension.
