Gas Chromatography Scientist
An Exciting opportunity for an experienced Scientist to work on aroma and taste compound analysis with a client of mine with a global foods brand. You will be working on a range of investigative analyses and state-of-the-art equipment on a portfolio of global products.
As an experienced Scientist you will have experience in GC-Olfactometry and will be responsible for planning and executing analytical support.
Focusing on aroma and taste compound analysis in food and packaging material, you will conduct state-of-the-art sample preparation, utilising your sophisticated analysis techniques to interpret and communicate to stakeholders and Clients. You will work on all types of chromatography MS systems, but will have a primary focus on GC-O and GC-GC-MS.
Required:
MSc, PhD or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Food Chemistry/Science
Experience in GC-Olfactometry, including proven record of hands-on application.
Expert in the identification and quantification of flavour compounds, with a good knowledge of physical/chemical properties of flavour compounds, their sensory properties, stability and formation pathways.
Scientific understanding and ability to independently conduct chemical analysis in relevant area, demonstrated ability to apply scientific understanding to experiment planning and analysis of results.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent Communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical teams and clients.
Please note that the role will involve dealing with third party vendors, clients and various departments.
Location: Commutable from Slough, Middlesex, Guildford, Reading, Marlow, Basingstoke, Oxford.
