A leading manufacturer of advanced ceramic materials and components is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer. Language skills in German or French or Italian are desirable, and experience in electronic components is essential. Basic Salary 25-35K.
This UK-based international group specialising in the design, development, manufacture and marketing of technology-based materials, components and chemicals is currently looking to recruit a Sales Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing existing key accounts of 8m business (shared with General Manager).
- Generate additional business from existing and new accounts
- Interact with engineering and manufacturing staff to ensure high quality sample manufacturing, production starts and contract review of custom ceramic components.
- Generating additional margin and revenue from pricing policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified to HND level in a technical discipline.
- Second language French, German or Italian would be distinct advantage as is willingness to invest significant personal time in learning languages.
- Entrepreneurial approach to sales.
- Ability to learn and understand complex technical products and convert this into manufacturing.
Previous Experience:
- Previous experience in a business selling custom technical products.
- Previous experience in a front line selling role is not essential but applicants must be able to demonstrate commercial acumen and entrepreneurism in previous roles.
- Some experience in controlling and setting pricing is desirable.
Personality and Attributes:
- Outgoing personality able to build high quality relationships with customers.
- Reliable.
- Good technical ability.
- Good effective communicator at all levels.
- Able to demonstrate technical acumen to a wide range of audiences.
Regular (international) overnight travel will be required, and it is essential that you have a full driving licence.
The Sales Engineer will be based in Southampton, so it is essential that you live within commuting distance.
The Basic Salary offered for the position of Sales Engineer is 25-35K (depending on experience) + 10% bonus + company car or car allowance + benefits.
