Role: Operations Manager/Director

Product / Service: Marine Navigation Solutions

Location: Within 1 hour of Essex

Salary: Very Competitive Salary + Car Allowance + Contributory Pension + Health

Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of marine navigation systems and the supply of navigational data. Apart from the commercial product offering Radar, ECDIS(electronic chart display & information systems), voyage data recorders and integrated bridge systems our client continues to lead the world in military display, radar and navigation technology with over 30 navies world-wide currently operating with the clients navigation systems. Our client offers both new build and retrofit solutions and can cater for most client needs no matter how complex.

Due to continued expansion a position has become available for an Operations Manager/Director. Reporting to the COO it is your role to maximise profit and cash generation through management of; procurement and the Inbound Supply Chain, Inventory, Sales and Operational Planning, Output and Outbound Distribution.

  

The Role/Candidate

  • To apply proper procedural and ethical controls with respect to Procurement and Company Output.
  • Operate within the Management Team in determining and implementing business strategies, tactics and policies aimed at improving the overall position of the business.
  • To maximise Sales opportunities and profits by producing products on time, with the right quality level and to budget.
  • Setting and controlling the factory programme required to meet agreed Inventory levels and sales forecast.
  • Budgetary Control of Supply Chain costs and overheads.
  • Personnel development within the Supply Chain discipline.
  • To drive lean initiatives through the department to maximise sales and profit opportunities.
  • Provide input into the Sales and Operations planning process.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Degree educated and with a demonstrable track record of Operational achievement within a Hi-Tech product sector.
