Job Description

TRAINEE SALES AND APPLICATIONS ENGINEER - MECHANICAL

20-25K + CO BONUS + PENSION + LIFE ASSURANCE + FULL TRAINING

THE COMPANY

With over 100 years experience in design and manufacture of specialist engineered solutions for the power generation industry, this business continues to maintain highly profitable organic growth. As a result of this impressive performance the business needs another trainee sales and applications engineer to help support the growth of the business.

THE ROLE

As trainee sales and applications engineer you will;

1. React to incoming enquiries and invitations to tender.
2. Analysis of the enquiry to understand the need.
3. Carry out dynamic flow and accoutsic calculations.
4. Identify any limitations
5. Put the data into a sketch to be passed on the estimation team.
6. Liaise with the customer to make sure they are happy with the recommended solution.
7. As you grow in competence and confidence you will be goal managed to do the proposals, close and negotiate the sales of projects.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal trainee sales and applications engineer will have one of the following backgrounds;

Either a graduate mechanical engineer, looking for their first engineering role.
A engineering graduate with 1-2 years work experience in an engineering environment.
Or a hands engineer who is looking to get into a more commercial role.
As long as you have one of the above and the confidence to communicate with customers and an ability and desire to learn then you will be trained on the rest.

THE BENEFITS.

The chosen trainee sales and applications engineer will receive full product, engineering and IT training and will spend time shadowing the existing applications team. Once up and running you will be given responsibility for the full sales cycle and bigger projects.
