I am searching for a talented Business Development Manager to join a market leading supplier to the Oil & Gas industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation with 30 years plus experience in the supply of process control, pipeline management and safety solutions.
Reporting to the Business Development Director you will be accountable for achieving a budgeted order input from existing customers and new accounts with a target of £1.5m to £2m in orders per year. This is a home based role that requires extensive UK travel.
Key responsibilities
·To identify suitable project targets in the sector by continuous research and constant awareness in the market place.
·To prepare an annual order input budget for discussion and agreement with the Business Development Director.
·To achieve the agreed order input budget.
·To monitor orders against budget and report monthly to the Business Development Director.
·To generate enquiries by direct customer contact.
·To ensure the timely and professional presentation of pre-qualification documentation.
·To review and agree the prioritisation of enquiries and quotations.
·To take responsibility for the preparation of quotations and obtain agreement for their submission from the Business Development Director and / or Managing Director.
·To follow up quotations, clarify where necessary, and negotiate orders with the support of the Commercial Department.
·To provide monthly and quarterly management information in line with Company requirements.
·To provide continuous field intelligence on projects, competitor activity, prices, equipment, etc.
·To participate in the preparation of product literature and publicity material.
Required qualifications and experience are a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics, a background in systems integration and automation, thorough knowledge and experience of the application of control solutions and safety systems in the oil & gas sector and ideally a career experience that includes design and development engineering, product support, commercial and sales.
Other soft skills required include strong negotiation skills and financial appreciation, flexibility with excellent customer service and being prepared to travel for long periods within the UK. You should be articulate, numerate and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Salary and package available for this role is in the region of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus generous commission plus company car.
