Job Description

Area Sales Manager / Field Sales Manager / Business Development  for a company specialising in the design, manufacture and distribution of metal furniture and architectural components made from stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel and engineering plastics.

Salary  negotiable , circa £30k to £35k

 

Job Title:  Area Sales Manager / Field Sales Manager/ Business Development Manager

  

Package:      Salary, circa £30k - £35k, negotiable dependent on experience + car/ car allowance.

  

Area / location:  Covering customers throughout the UK and some overseas customers. The role will be a mixture of office and Field based.

Location of West Midlands or easy daily commute to West Midlands.

Product; Metal Furniture and Architectural components. 

Brief Job Description;

Area Sales Manager / Field Sales Manager  for a company specialising in the design, manufacture and distribution of metal furniture and architectural components made from stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel and engineering plastics.

The company product range includes, Metal furniture, feet and legs, Pedestal table bases and swivel chair bases, structural glass fixings, fitted kitchen products.

 

These products are sold into a variety of industries, which can be split into 2 distinct categories ;

- Furniture manufacturers, shopfitters, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom manufacturers, exhibition equipment co's, contract furniture makers

- Architects, designers, specifiers etc.

Your role will be to sell these products into the above sectors within UK and Europe to a degree.

 The role will involve a mixture of account management and development , along with New Business Development. This is a new role within the company and thus business growth will be the key focus rather than simple account maintenance.

The role will involve selling to a variety of different sectors and company levels, from Designers, architects and specifiers, through to Company Directors, site managers and engineers.

The role will require an understanding of both machine engineering on the one hand and of design and technology on the other.

 

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED;

-Successful B2B track record in Field Sales in metal manufacturing,engineering, steel, design and technology.

- Previous experience in New Business development.

-Metal manufacturing product knowledge  and knowledge of Design.

- Previous experience of selling into the respective market sectors , eg Furniture manufacturers, architects, designers, etc and an understanding of these market sectors.

- Technical knowledge and ability to understand and interpret drawings and turn these into practical solutions.

-Ability to handle pressure.

-Strong closing skills.

-Good relationship builder

-First class communication skills.

-Organised , disciplined and self motivated.

-Commercially aware.

-IT literate

- Autocad knowledge and practical experience

- Professional  appearance with strong presentation skills.

Rewards;

A salary negotiable of between £30k and £35k.

Car or car allowance.
