We are looking for a Relationship Director to join our asset finance team in Bristol/Somerset or Gloucestershire/Wiltshire.
We are actively seeking candidates who have a proven track record of working with corporate clients and the chosen candidate will have outstanding relationship building skills.
This is a highly demanding and stimulating opportunity owning the strategy that will deliver exceptional performance across both an existing portfolio and new business.
We are looking for high level dynamic individuals, with a background in asset finance, B2B Finance, leasing or a corporate bank.
Main Role Purpose
Establish and secure asset finance sales opportunities to meet customer needs and own performance targets by maintaining existing income sources and identifying areas of growth and new business acquisition opportunities (via both existing Bank relationships and non-Bank relationships)
Responsibility for maintaining an extensive network of contacts, including Group Companies, other SBUs and Key Business Introducers, driving proactive business development for new and existing customers
Deal with large and often complex transactions
Research, create and follow up a target list for potential new business
Customer Service 10%
Develop long-term relationships with customer portfolio to maximise wallet share
Risk Assessment and Control 15%
Ensure Credit Risk Accreditation status is achieved and maintained
Responsible for the quality of initial credit applications taking into account the environment in which customers operate and current Bank credit policy and procedures
Responsible for building an effective working partnership with credit colleagues to jointly agree credit risk actions and ownership of credit risk decisions
Ensure compliance with mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to governance, regulatory, compliance operational and legal risk
Pro-actively work with Early Warning List customers to reduce risk, following HO and Regional guidance provided, ensuring proactive and timely referral to credit and Business Support Colleagues
Team Working 5%
Be an active member of Barclays Asset and Sales Finance at a local, regional and national level
Take responsibility for the development of a close working relationship with your Support Team, sharing knowledge and good practice ad helping to develop capabilities
Actively support and further Barclays activities in the local community
Develop an effective working relationship with regional Large Corporate Banking team
