Here at American Express we have a fantastic opening for an experienced Sales professional to join the team as a Sales Manager in one of the fastest growing areas of our business.

The Merchant Services UK (MSUK) B2B business seen 30% growth in 2007, making it one of the fastest growing and most dynamic areas of American Express. The B2B team drives business growth by acquiring new merchants, and developing our existing merchant base. We work closely with our issuing partners to support a wide range of American Express products as well as developing joint partnerships and initiatives.

Reporting into the Head of B2B UK & Ireland, in this strategic sales position you will be responsible for raising the AXP presence in the B2B marketplace through selling acceptance and partnerships to strategic merchants. We have seen transformational growth within B2B EMEA over 2007, making 2008 a very exciting year for us.

You will research specific industries, developing an in-depth knowledge of the industry’s key players and of supply and value chains, building a pipeline and research prospect list of opportunities, working with a wide group of internal teams and external contacts.


Qualifications:

• A University Degree / MBA (or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of financial services environment
• Exceptional sales skills, with proven experience selling complex products and services across a wide range of industries at a senior level
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an innovative approach to building partnerships both internally and externally
• Strong commercial acumen to develop and execute a growth strategy, able to think through the financial implications of activities
• Ability to contribute within a dynamic team environment
• Ability to drive results though prioritising time and managing a pipeline
