Experian’s Business Strategies Division provides an understanding of individuals, markets and economies in the UK and around the world. We have an international team of researchers, analysts and consultants, generating insight and advice on a wide range of marketing, public policy and business issues.
Job Purpose
To qualify and develop new business opportunities and build effective business relationships to ensure ongoing profitable business for Experian.
New Business Revenue
The candidate will be required to identify new business opportunities with clients/ prospects for the economics group’s subscription based products. The remit extends to introducing economics products to potential clients in both new and existing sectors by approaching opportunities, gaining consent and presenting proposals. The candidate will be expected to make the initial contacts as well as negotiate with clients/prospects, prepare presentations and proposals. Economics products are also sold in combination with other product suites from Business Strategies, which will require the development of strategic relationships with the business development managers across the division and across divisions.
Client Ownership
The candidate will take responsibility for the account management and development of their existing accounts.
Business Planning
The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of a tactical business or account plan for annual submission and review. Continually review progress and report on sales activity against agreed targets
New Product and Industry Development
At all time the ideal candidate will collect on going collection and dissemination of competitor information and market developments, considering the adaptation of existing products or new product concepts to satisfy current and potential market needs.
So what do we need from you?
The ideal candidate will be experienced in identifying relevant sales opportunities and will have strong prospecting and contact strategies. They will have a detailed understanding of selling valued added subscription based products as well as bespoke work. Strong communication skills are required as there will always be a large element of cold calling. They will be comfortable with the use of strategic sales analysis techniques where appropriate. They will need to have strong influencing and negotiating skills as well as a detailed knowledge of sales process and be good at closing process. The candidate will also have strong client management skills as well as experience in growing existing accounts.
