Job Description

Main Duties/Responsibilities of the Role:

This role will be a key position within an expanding business unit.  The successful candidate will work jointly with Relationship Managers and the Branch Manager in the development of its client base, principally through the local intermediary community.  The role is client facing and involves the specific formulation of a business development strategy to include the identification of prospect firms and the development of relationships with known firms; the development of a pro-active calling and follow-up programme; the close monitoring and closure of business proposals and contribution to the formulation of new or adapted business solutions to meet the needs of the client base.  Presentations in conjunction with the Advisory or Discretionary teams will feature prominently.  The role will also involve various ad hoc projects as is reflected by the diverse nature of the business development role.   

Person Specification

Numerate, attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills; a proven client network and sales and business development experience.

Previous experience required

Business development  and sales.  The candidate should be Are you familiar with economic concepts and understand the fundamentals of investment products?  Ideally the candidate should have experience in the sale of discretionary and or advisory investment products.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Higher education qualifications (O or A levels) and or a degree from a respected university; a minimum of the CIS&I Investment Advice Certificate or equivalent
