Job Description

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - Public Sector - Higher Education
Up to £60k basic, 120k OTE uncapped, + car allowance


An independent IT Group and the largest in Europe - they are the leader in best of breed technology within IT infrastructure solutions. By responding to customer needs they are constantly driving to enhance services, consequently they are continually improving processes. With an enviable track record and proven history to do what they say, on time and on budget, they are setting standards in the industry.

In support of their growth strategy they are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager with experience of selling to Public Sector organisations - ideally Higher Education establishments. Inundated with leads and enquiries for cost reducing solutions, as a Business Development Manager your role will be to expose new business opportunities through operating a structured sales cycle into public sector clients. This requires a proactive attitude to sales, good commercial awareness of current business needs and excellent understanding of technology services and solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Delivery of target in agreed business areas
* Development and maintenance of accurate and suitably sized pipeline
Generate sufficient new business to ensure sales targets are met as a minimum
* Develop a clear understanding of the range of services, in line with overall business objectives
Establish relationships with key decision makers such as Financial Directors, technical staff, key senior members of the IT department, within all assigned and potential customers
* Development of the nominated account base
* Maintain accurate records for forecasting purposes to facilitate on-target revenue generation


THE PERSON
* Commercial knowledge of the marketplace, suppliers, competitors and vendors
* Experience of tailoring and selling IT / telecommunications contracts to organisations
* Proven experience in structured sales roles
* Experience within Managed Services, ICT Solutions, Data Centre Solutions, Software Solutions, Virtualisation, Unified Communications
* Instinctive Sales knowledge
