US Account Manager/BDM Digital/Multi-Media Sales -Aviation

Basic £28-30,000 OTE £50-60,000 Uncapped Surrey

High profile, long established B2B media organisation in the aviation market. Reaches decision makers throughout the world, and website traffic exceeds 200,000 per month.

Folllowing major digital investment the site has moved to a new platform enabling enhanced content and more digital advertising opportunities. The magazine is due for a redesign in 2018.

A significant proportion of revenue already comes from US based clients and it is the company's ambition to significantly grow advertising revenues from this region.

Role profile

This is a new role, based in the UK office but with the expectation of regular travel to the US. The US Account Manager will take responsibility for most US based clients. Objectives are to maintain & strengthen relationships with existing clients whilst also developing opportunities for multi-channel content-driven marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create marketing collateral with editorial & marketing team
  • Develop and sell multi-channel packages
  • Maintain & Build, trusted relationships with existing and new clients
  • Create content driven, multi-channel campaigns with measurable outcomes that grow annual spend per client
  • Take responsibility for delivering packages (with support of team)
  • Develop new advertising clients spending
  • Be a key member of the team moving the company forward
  • Collaborate with UK/Europe sales team on AvBuyer & GA Buyer Europe
  • Collaborate with events team on sponsorship packages

Future career opportunities

Potential to be promoted to Sales Director and take a leading boardroom role in the company.

Skills & experience required

This is primarily a business development role with the emphasis on leading the sales effort from the front, mostly by telephone.

  • Solid training/background and record of success in media sales, and including digital advertising solutions
  • Have delivered multi-channel marketing solutions for B2B clients
  • Ability to sell to US clients

Personal qualities

  • Can present convincingly to senior management
  • Good at developing business relationships over phone and webex
  • Consultative sales style - understand client objectives
  • Creativity in building bespoke marketing solutions
  • Highly organised and thorough planner (need to manage own time and plan US trips meticulously, and deliver client packages)
  • Team player
  • Entrepreneurial/self-starter
  • Happy working in a small, tight knit team
