Job Title: Specification Sales Manager – Interior / Flooring Products
Industry Sector: A&D, Architects and Interior Designers, Specifiers, Flooring Contractors, Fit-Out Contractors, Education, Building Surveyors, Letting Agents, Estate Management and Local Authorities
Area to be covered: DE, LN & NG postcodes
Remuneration: £37,000 - £42,000 + up to £15,000 Bonus

The role of the Specification Sales Manager Interior / Flooring Products will involve:
- Field sales role selling a full range of manufactured floor coverings / carpet tiles
- Promoting approx. 20% fibre bonded carpet and 80% structure bonded & tufted carpet as well as a new FRS (full repeatable scroll) range
- 60%-70% of your time selling into predominantly architects and interior designers (A&D), but also a varied range of specifiers and decision makers including: but also: fit-out contractors, universities, colleges, end users, building surveyors, letting agents, estate management and local authorities etc
- 30%-40% of your time with circa 50-60 direct flooring contractor accounts on the area
- Inheriting a very mature area, with the largest revenue responsibility in the country, circa £1.8m
- Tasked with achieving £1.9m in the coming year
- Account managing a couple of recently landed large projects
- New business position, although there will be a project bank to inherit
- Targeting commercial buildings such as office blocks as well as the education sector: schools, universities & colleges and a small amount of healthcare
- Utilising ABI leads and in-house CRM database
- Project sizes from 500m2 up to 15,000m2, typically £5,000-£200,000 project value
- Promoting new products via newly invested FRS machine (full repeat scroll)
The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager Interior / Flooring Products with:
- Must have a proven track record of selling into the architects and interior designers (A&D) specification marketplace
- Must have a proven track record of selling interior products such as flooring, carpet, wall coverings, fabric, ceilings, partitioning or furniture
- Contacts within fit-out contractors, universities, colleges, end users, building surveyors, letting agents, estate management and local authorities are not essential
- Tactile sales background rather that technical, sold something aesthetically pleasing, ideally flooring related
- Carpet knowledge not essential
- Team player
- Energy, passion and Enthusiasm
- Strong commercial and presentation skills
